A year and a half ago I wrote that “You can take the Trump out of the White House, but you can't take the Boat Parade out of the Trumpkin.”
Apparently, you can’t take them out of the Coxwomble either.
Dan Cox supporters on the Eastern Shore have decided that they are going to waste their time show their support of Cox during a boat parade through the Kent Narrows.
Even the timing of the parade is bizarre. If they waited to do it on Sunday, they at least would have been able to make the parade visible to those coming home from one last weekend in Ocean City. Instead doing it in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. It’s just weird.
(Not as weird as the absolutely trash design of this thing. Algerian font? Drop shadow?)
At a time when Cox is trailing Wes Moore in fundraising by a 10-to-1 margin, it seems as bizarre as ever that Cox supporters are wasting their time and gas money on a boat parade. It goes back to something I wrote in June:
As I have noted previously, there is a certain segment of Republicans focused on nonsense activities. The three protests that seem to generate the most enthusiasm for this group are:
Overpass Waving;
Car Parades;
Boat Parades;
At no point do these folks do the following:
Knock doors for candidates;
Make phone calls for candidates;
Recruit candidates for office.
There are 45 days between this fakakta parade at the General Election. It’s time that could be better spent.
