We all know the most dangerous place in the world is between Governor Wes Moore and a national television interview. And Moore uncorked a doozy on Monday:

In an interview on MSNBC, host Jen Psaki asked Moore for his thoughts on the recent book bans some have implemented.

“I continue hearing people making the argument that we’re doing it because we want to we want to prevent our students from having discomfort or guilt,” Moore told Psaki. “Because we don’t want our students to be able to really wrestle with these really difficult things in times when they are maturing as individuals and difficult historical points. But the thing I realized and I wanted to speak out about is that’s actually not true. It’s a guise.”

“It’s not about making kids feel uncomfortable. It’s about telling other kids that they shouldn’t understand their own power,” Moore added. “It’s castrating them.”

“Castration” of course has very specific definitions. Merriam-Webster defines castration as:

  1. : to deprive (a male animal or person) of the testes

  2. to render impotent

  3. to deprive of virility : emasculate

  4. to deprive of vitality, strength, or effectiveness

Now I have very mixed opinions about the so-called “Book Bans” that are running rampant across the country.

But Wes Moore signed legislation that allows children as young as five to get a sex change operation at taxpayer expense. Wes Moore signed legislation that will literally castrate children.

If Moore wants to talk about castrating a child’s educational opportunities, how about his assault on the BOOST Program that gives students in low-performing schools the opportunity to escape and attend a private school?

Wes Moore having a negative opinion about book bans is reasonable discourse. Wes Moore comparing book bans to castration is ludicrous. Wes Moore comparing book bans to castration when he is literally allowing the physical castration of children to occur back in Maryland is immoral and insane…
