Why are you running for office? *
The Republican Party, at all levels, is too focused on national politics and what is happening in Washington. The Anne Arundel County Republican Party needs conservative leadership that focuses on what is happening in our communities and in our county. I am the Conservative Candidate for GOP Committee that can bring this leadership.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
I have two; Barry Goldwater, for his ideas; and Ronald Reagan, for his ability to communicate those ideas. Without the communication, the ideas can go nowhere
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
The Conscience of a Conservative by Barry Goldwater. I have two copies; one to read, and a first edition in a shadowbox.
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee? *
The Central Committee's primary focus is on developing candidates and winning elections; every effort and action of the Central Committee must be weighed on whether or not it helps us win in Anne Arundel County.
What are the three biggest issues facing your county party? *
- Focusing on National Issues instead of local issues - Promoting activities unrelated to winning elections - Candidate recruitment
What are the three biggest issues facing your state party? *
- Too many local Central Committee members focusing on National Issues instead of state and local issues; - Candidate recruitment - Fundraising
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
I am 100% pro-life from conception until natural death. I oppose abortion in all instances, I oppose the death penalty, and I oppose assisted suicide.
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit? *
Taxes at all levels are WAY too high. We need a flat tax rate at the federal and state level. We also need reductions to the federal payroll tax and to cut the state sales tax from 6% to 4%. In regards to spending, the Federal Government cannot spend its way into prosperity. We must cut spending. The National Debt is now more than $30 TRILLION. This is not only an economic issue that will hurt my kids and yours, it is also a national security issue when factoring in how much US debt is owned by China and other hostile actors. We MUST take proactive steps to get the National Debt down to zero.
What is your position on gun rights? *
I strongly support the 2nd Amendment and the Right to Bear arms, including efforts to allow for concealed carry in Maryland. More good guys with guns will do a lot to stem the tide of crime in our state.
Do you believe that Maryland primary elections should be open to independent voters? *
No
Do you believe that the state party and the county parties should be allowed to endorse in primary elections? *
No
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party auxiliary organizations should have a vote on the Maryland Republican Party executive committee? *
Yes
Would you support limiting the terms of Maryland Republican Party officers to eight consecutive years in the same office? *
Yes
Was Joe Biden legitimately elected President of the United States in the November 2020 Election? *
Yes
Do you pledge to accept the results of your election? *
Yes
