Why are you running for office?*

Throughout the duration of my life, I have seen how my own family has seen the frustration and turmoil created by a lack of estate planning. While estate planning can be an uncomfortable topic, the last two years have shown us it is a critical one. If elected, I want to make the register of wills processes easier and more efficient for the citizens of Charles County.

Who do you consider your political role model, and why?*

I would say Stacey Abrams because we both share a passion for serving and making a difference in the community.

What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?*

Lead from the Outside: How to Build Your Future and Make Real Change

What will be your top priority in office?*

I pledge to uphold the priorities established under the Constitution of the State of Maryland for ​the Office to ensure there are appointed personnel to administer decedents’ estates and oversee the proper proceedings administration, seek ways to streamline the Office duties affiliated with the Orphans Court, and estate administration.

What is the biggest issue facing your area?*

Lack of modernization pertaining to the administrative functions in the Office.

What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland?*

Educational inequality, crime, and access to healthcare facilities.

What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)*

I consider myself to b pro choice, and I do not have a position on assisted suicide.

What is your position on taxes and spending?*

The Constitution of the State of Maryland that the Office of the Register of Wills is responsible for collecting inheritance taxes. If elected, I pledge to collect taxes in accordance with the State’s declarations and/or laws. I pledge to be accountable, fiscally responsible, and transparent regarding the Office’s spending.

What is your position on gun rights?*

I am not antigun.

What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?*

The utilization of marijuana medical purposes is currently legal in the State of Maryland.

What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol?*

No position.

What is your position on land use, growth, and development?*

No position.

What is your position on crime and public safety?*

Public safety should be an utmost priority for the local, state, and federal government. Based on what I learned in Citizen Academy, the local police, sheriffs, and volunteer firefighters are diligently putting forth the effort to be more engaging in the community. I personally would like to take a moment to thank all the brave men and women who put forth the effort to serve our beloved Charles County.
