Why are you running for office? *
I am running for office to provide a conservative republican viewpoint on matters concerning the reduction in property taxes for senior citizens, additional benefits for veterans, support for our second amendment right to bear arms, the reduction of burdensome regulations/taxes on business, provide law and order, safety and security for Marylanders to name a few.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
George Washington, founding father of our nation, general, first president, man of God. He believed in term limits, unity and was for all people.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
On God's side by Jim Wallis - It blends politics with faith in God and how we can find common ground for the common good.
What will be your top priority in office? *
Cut taxes and strengthen our second amendment right to keep and bear arms by becoming a constitutional carry state as our founding fathers envisioned.
What is the biggest issue facing your area? *
Crime
What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland? *
Crime, anti-police legislation, gerrymandering
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
I am pro-life. I am opposed to ending life prematurely.
What is your position on taxes and spending? *
I would work to reduce taxes for senior citizens and retirees. I am a fiscally responsible conservative and willing to create a more business-friendly Maryland.
What is your position on gun rights? *
I am pro-second amendment and will work hard to make Maryland a constitutional carry state.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana? *
I am opposed to the legalization of marijuana but I am for medical cannabis.
What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol? *
If I looked at it from a business perspective, the three-tiered system seems to be an inefficient system and increases the price of alcohol for the consumer therefore a better system would be direct-to-consumer sales. Unfortunately, it appears that the current three-tiered system isn't going away any time soon.
What is your position on land use, growth, and development? *
I support farm land preservation and will work hard to responsibly assist in the growth and development of urban Maryland.
What is your position on crime and public safety? *
I have served my state for 38 years as a law enforcement professional with the Maryland State Police (25) and thirteen years (13) with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police (MDTA). I am concerned about the increase in crime and the anti-police legislation that has been passed. Public safety is a top concern and I will work to establish legislation to combat violent crime.
What is your position on county tax caps? *
I am for total tax caps and reducing property tax for seniors
For candidates for the General Assembly: Legislators can receive $101 per day for lodging and $47 per day for meals during the 90-day General Assembly session. If elected, do you plan to accept these benefits? Why or why not?
Yes. It is needed to pay for lodging and meals. Some Delegates and Senators travel long distances to serve and they should be compensated. I will pledge that if I am elected, I will donate my freshman year salary to non-profit organizations who serve my constituents. I will split my net salary to both Harford and Cecil County.
Was Joe Biden legitimately elected President of the United States in the November 2020 Election? *
Yes
Do you pledge to accept the results of your election? *
Yes
