To help make Montgomery County more business and middle class friendly
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
Ron Paul because he was not afraid to speak up for key issues that others did not touch such as the dangers of the military industrial complex and the federal reserve
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell because he addresses foundational principles that shape how people think politically
What will be your top priority in office? *
Help make Montgomery County more business and middle class friendly
What is the biggest issue facing your area? *
Damage to our natural environment, high cost of living, and public safety
What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland? *
Damage to our natural environment, high cost of living, and public safety
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
That should be handled at the state level. I do not have a hardened stance on this.
What is your position on taxes and spending? *
I believe we should cut both, limiting the scope of our government The largest expenditure is education, so we need to see how we can increase efficiency and results. Increased spending with decreasing results is unacceptable. In order to lower taxes we need to first have a plan to cut spending in order to have a balanced budget.
What is your position on gun rights? *
It is every person's right to defend themselves, and owning a firearm is one of the best ways to do so. I do not support restrictions on firearm ownership that are not backed by reason and evidence.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana? *
I support it.
What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol? *
We should remove the county from the alcohol business.
What is your position on land use, growth, and development? *
I support transit-oriented development, increased mixed-use zoning, and upzoning down county to increase density in regions that have multi-modal transportation infrastructure in place or in the pipeline. I support increasing green space and parks as a priority.
What is your position on crime and public safety? *
Highest priority to keep residents safe, catch and prosecute criminals justly. We should investigate reasons for low officer morale and recruitment and rectify those concerns.
What is your position on county tax caps? *
We should cap county property and income taxes and even seek to cut them to become competitive as a county on a national level, attracting large and small businesses.
