Why are you running for office?*
I have enjoyed my time on this committee, and have worked very hard to earn a spot at this table. I believe in the Republican mission and want the opportunity to continue working towards Republican wins.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?*
Rona McDaniel!!
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?*
The Bible. Seriously. This current campaign has taught me daily that this instruction book for life prepares you for any and all things. How to be a good politician and how not to be. How to treat everyone around you, even those with whom you disagree, and how not to. There are specific instructions on literally everything and every direction that so many are currently arguing over. There is no political strategy in the role that I currently play. And relationships are everything.
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee?*
To raise funds so that you can help R candidates campaign before elections to ensure Republican wins. To educate your local voters on what candidates stand for and their platforms, without showing favor, at all, to any candidate over another in a contested race. To bring Republicans together, not create division and discontent. To vet and submit candidates for an office vacated by an Republican your county.
What are the three biggest issues facing your county party?*
Division. The lack of respect and an intolerance for any differing opinion by a large group, causing separation amongst the troops. An inability to recognize toxic people and keep them at arms length.
What are the three biggest issues facing your state party?*
Pretty much the same thing. Partisan politics within the Republicans.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)*
Geez... I almost don't want to answer that. I do not feel that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. Giving the Left inch however by stating that there may be some circumstances where it might be necessary, has them taking a mile and headed towards infanticide. This is just plain wrong. If it were a women's body and therefore her choice, she would be the one dyeing.
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit?*
Too high. Too much. Too big. We need more fiscally responsible people deciding how to balance our checkbooks. They take enough of our $$, now they should go learn how to not spend more than they make. I could never reach in to my employers pocket and just take more $ because I spent too much this month!
What is your position on gun rights?*
It is our right to hold and bear arms. To protect our homes and our families. When this government can get a hold on crime, they can come talk to me about restricting my ability to protect myself. MD should allow conceal and carry. Statistics show that if a criminal is afraid that you might shoot them, they seem to think twice about violent crimes. It's been reported in the state of Maine for example, that 4 years after residents began carrying without a special permit, the state was rated the safest i the nation for crime. In fact the top 3 safest states are all constitutional/permitless carry states. (usconcealandcarry.com) Baltimore? Rated 3rd most dangerous city in the country.
Do you believe that Maryland primary elections should be open to independent voters?*
No
Do you believe that the state party and the county parties should be allowed to endorse in primary elections?*
No
Do you believe that Maryland Republican Party auxiliary organizations should have a vote on the Maryland Republican Party executive committee?*
No
Would you support limiting the terms of Maryland Republican Party officers to eight consecutive years in the same office?*
Yes
Was Joe Biden legitimately elected President of the United States in the November 2020 Election?*
No
Do you pledge to accept the results of your election?*
Yes
