Poissonnier for Congress Facebook
Why are you running for office? *
During the Obama administration he along with Eric Holder declared war on law enforcement. The men and women who serve our communities deserve someone in congress that understands law enforcement and who is willing to fight for them. There is a big push to defund and remove safe guards for law enforcement. They fear doing the job they have been entrusted with. Allowing this to continue only weakens national security. We need our law enforcement officers to keep this country safe.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
Donald J. Trump
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
"It's Your Ship" by Captain D Michael Abrashoff. Politics is more than sitting in DC making laws. It is about representing your community and getting people involved. It is about motivating the community to come together in unity to make positive changes. It is about leadership.
What will be your top priority if elected? *
Making law enforcement a reputable career again. I plan on doing this by involving local law enforcement and introducing bills to enhance law enforcement's abilities to keep our streets safe. Term limits for congress. Nothing good ever comes from remaining in power for long periods of time. Election integrity. We have seen from the 2020 presidential race that the election process needs standardized policies in place. To uphold the constitution. During the 2020 election we have seen where freedom of speech was removed from certain people including President Trump if you apposed those in control. Our second amendment is constantly being violated with useless gun laws that do nothing but restrict law abiding citizens. These laws need to be changed.
What are the three biggest issues facing your district? *
Increase drug addiction, lack of jobs, and lack of community involvement.
What are the three biggest issues facing our country? *
A weak presidential administration, a congress who are in it for the money, and an aggressive spending spree.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
Tax dollars should not be used to fund these programs. I am opposed to both these issues. I cannot tell someone they cannot have an abortion, that takes away free will, but I can fight to limit the funding going to these programs.
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit? *
Obviously America has over spent for a very long time. We need to reduce the amount of funding going to the United Nations and other countries. We need to stop funding useless research. We need to reduce the federal government placing more on the governors.
What is your position on gun rights? *
I stand with the second amendment. It a right to bare arms and should not be restricted.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana? *
Marijuana has proven to be beneficial in many ways. Although there must be some restrictions such as driving while impaired. It is one of the least harmful to the body and mind. Studies have shown it is beneficial for anxiety, pain management and bipolar disorders.
What is your position on trade? *
We need to bring more jobs to America. America needs to increase our GDP and increase our exports. America relies too much on imports.
What is your position on foreign policy and military issues? *
America spends way too much money and assets fighting in other countries. Every situation must be evaluated and determined in individual cases. America should act as a mediator and only provide funding and military assets when international security is at risk. We need to build a strong military with increased training. Our military must be funded to acquire the most updated and efficient equipment possible. I support our military 100 percent.
