Why are you running for office?*
People say I am great at solving problems, and helping people.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why?*
Fred Malkus from Cambridge. He had the respect of everyone in Annapolis. He was fair and very helpful for his District.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why?*
How to win friends and influence enemies. Comical.
What will be your top priority in office?*
Support less legislation at the state level if it effects local issues. Help people in my District.
What is the biggest issue facing your area?*
Getting jobs filled. Getting people to work. Keeping the Eastern Shore rural.
What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland?*
Spending money wisely. Getting more people on payrolls, Making our State attractive to employers, tourists, and our citizens.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide)*
Favor early abortions, after much counseling. Favor assisted suicide with MANY rules.
What is your position on taxes and spending?*
Hate taxes, Love spending. We can't spend money on programs that are not supported by taxes. States should be like households. You can't spend if you have no income. Look at what you have, and spend accordingly. Yes, States need good credit also to borrow needed funds when needed.
What is your position on gun rights?*
If trained, and not a felon, everyone should have a right to a gun. The right should be there, but you do not have to use it.
What is your position on the legalization of marijuana?*
Just like alcohol. If the State can get taxes from sale..GREAT. Just like alcohol, individuals have a right to manufacture very limited amounts for personal use.
What is your position on the current three-tiered system for the sale and distribution of alcohol?*
Seems to be working. Has some problems, but very minor.
What is your position on land use, growth, and development?*
Location, location, location. This should be somewhat of a local issue. Local governments closer to the area should form a land use, growth, and development plan for many years ahead. Lots of land (low farm tax) on the Eastern Shore. Keep Solar "farms" from development of useful farming land.
What is your position on crime and public safety?*
Hate crime, love safety. We need to support our law enforcement people. Better relationships with the community help. Always said if everyone knew all their neighbors, things would be better.
What is your position on county tax caps?*
This is a county issue. NOT a State issue.
For candidates for the General Assembly: Legislators can receive $101 per day for lodging and $47 per day for meals during the 90-day General Assembly session. If elected, do you plan to accept these benefits? Why or why not?
If I had to stay in Annapolis, and not commute, I would accept. Many times you work late and have to get to work early. I have stayed in Annapolis many times and $101.00 won't get you a very good room.
Was Joe Biden legitimately elected President of the United States in the November 2020 Election?*
Yes
Do you pledge to accept the results of your election?*
Yes
RUN RON RUN!!!! "Big Brother" only listens to the people 2 to 4 times a year when they are running for election. Ron is committed to LISTENING to all of the people in District 37B (weather you voted for him or not.) Ron is a results oriented problem solver. When elected you won't just see him in parades or when campaigning. I can always count on seeing current Delegates when they come to town for a parade and when they want our vote. We now have a chance to elect a true representative. I will vote for Ron and encourage everyone to support and vote for Ron James. RUN RON RUN!
