Why are you running for office? *
I would like to see a return to our nation's republic foundations and Godly principles. I want to support candidates that have good character and moral compass. We need leaders who will represent their constituents rather than ignore them or support policies that harm them.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
When Thomas Jefferson was president of the United States, he wrote the first plan of education which was approved. For teaching reading, his plan called for two main books: the Bible and Isaac Watt's hymnal. We need to get our nation back to where it started. Our children are our future. Thomas Jefferson said, "A democratic society depends upon an informed and educated citizenry."
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
While many people will argue that religion and politics should be separate, I propose that our founding fathers totally disagree with that statement. The moral foundations of this country were founded on the 10 Commandments and other biblical principles such as to treat others as we would want to be treated. Jesus Christ even strove into the temple and drove out the corrupt money exchangers. He kicked out evil men and wasn't afraid to call them names: "fools, vipers, blind guides, white-washed tombs, and hypocrites." So the answer is the Bible.
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee? *
To recruit and encourage conservative, principled candidates to run for office and then support them with fundraising and election strategies
What are the three biggest issues facing your county party? *
Crime and drugs (These are related.), education (unacceptable agendas ), increasing taxes
What are the three biggest issues facing your state party? *
#1 RINOS, #2 Democratic majorities in the legislature who can veto anything they desire so there seems like there is little hope for the Republicans to make a difference and be heard. #3 RINOS
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
I am pro-life. I have worked in a neonatal intensive care unit and with special needs children. I believe all life is special and that includes the elderly and infirm. Those in the end stages of life, deserve to be surrounded by those who love them. I have been appalled at how people have not been allowed to check on their relatives in nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities in the past two years. This perhaps has lead to neglect of some of these individuals who need an advocate for their care.
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit? *
Government officials should be transparent and held accountable for how the taxpayers money is spent. Less is better and balancing is a must. Politicians should keep a long-term view of their decisions based on how the spending will affect future generations rather than how it affects their next campaign.
What is your position on gun rights? *
I believe in our 2nd amendment rights. Our nation's freedom is based on those rights.
