Why are you running for office? *

I want to ensure we maintain Carroll County Public Schools as one of the best systems in Maryland.

Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *

Ronald Reagan was a man who brought people together, never compromised his values, and inspired Americans to love their country.

What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *

Race and Economics by Dr. Walter E. Williams. This brilliant, black economists so eloquently explained that racial discrimination was not the primary source of problems facing black America.

What will be your top priority in office? *

Bring people together, ensure parents have a voice, and prevent political agendas and bias in our classrooms.

What is the biggest issue facing your area? *

Distance learning throughout the pandemic has significantly affected our students in negative ways. We must address their learning loss, ensure they once again interact socially in positive ways, and give them multiple paths towards a successful future.

What are the three biggest issues facing Maryland? *

1) Keep schools open and safe for staff, teachers, and students. 2) Address learning loss gaps that students experienced with online learning. 3) Remove political bias, agendas, and distractions from our classrooms.

What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *

Not applicable to my office.

What is your position on taxes and spending? *

School systems must operate within their budgets. Carroll citizens need leaders that spend wisely, seek innovative solutions that lower costs, and make the school system extremely efficient.

What is your position on gun rights? *

Fully support 2nd Amendment rights.

What is your position on the legalization of marijuana? *

Do not support ... not even for medicinal purposes since. There are ample prescriptions available through a doctor.

What is your position on land use, growth, and development? *

It is vital we maintain the rural aspect of Carroll County. Smart, very measured growth should be considered in areas where school enrollment is expected to decrease. We must ensure young couples with children can afford new homes and enroll their kids in our schools.

What is your position on crime and public safety? *

It is vital we support law enforcement and keep the public safe. I support fully the use of School Resource Officers to keep kids safe. Also support college campuses creating their own security force.

What is your position on county tax caps? *

Support fully. Tax caps ensure governments seek ways to eliminate waste, prioritize spending, and create innovative ways to serve citizens better.
