to support conservative principles in Garrett County
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
Eisenhower. He foresaw the developing political and social changes that have happened
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
"The Prince" by Machiavelli. He was centuries ahead of his time.
What do you see as the role of the Central Committee? *
To maintain conservative values and support Republican candidates for major offices
What are the three biggest issues facing your county party? *
Preserving our unity on the central committee. Listening carefully and being fair to all different points of view. Encouraging young people to participate.
What are the three biggest issues facing your state party? *
uphill battle against Democrat majority in state; weakening of principles to "get along" with them; helping our "long shot" Republican nominees run successfully.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
Life begins at conception. It is wrong to terminate it at any stage. Assisted suicide is also wrong. No life, however inconvenient, is worthless
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit? *
The rapidly-growing federal deficit will ultimately bring about the collapse of American society. The tax of "inflation" is the cruelest tax of all. Spending MUST be controlled and the budget must be balanced.
What is your position on gun rights? *
The second Amendment ensures that America won't sink into dictatorship. Don't change it.
