Delegate Dan Cox is begging the Maryland Republican Party to save his sinking gubernatorial campaign.
In a letter released today on his Facebook page Cox has asked the Maryland Republican Party, specifically Chairman Dirk Haire, to intervene to force Kelly Schulz to debate him.
Hilariously, Cox misspelled role as “roll” in the third paragraph, keeping up Cox’s streak of misspellings in just about everything he attaches his name to.
I have reached out to the Maryland Republican Party and the Schulz campaign for comment but have not heard back as of this publication.
Cox’s insistence on getting the party involved in the debate process goes to show you the desperation that Cox’s campaign must be feeling as we close in on the primary election date. That combined with the letter’s release days after the end of the latest campaign finance filing period is instructive about the state of Cox’s campaign finances and his belief that whatever chance he had of winning this election is evaporating before his eyes.
