Dan Cox is the only Republican candidate for Governor refusing to appear on Maryland Public Television’s State Circle this evening.
In a press release today from MPT, Cox has been offered the opportunity to speak. But has not availed himself of the opportunity.
OWINGS MILLS, MD – Maryland Public Television (MPT) will broadcast recorded interviews with three candidates seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for governor during a special episode of State Circle airing tonight, June 17, at 7 p.m. on MPT-HD and the State Circle livestream. The program will also be available to view following the broadcast via MPT’s YouTube channel.
Interviews with candidates Kelly Schulz, Robin Ficker, and Joe Werner will air during the half-hour episode of MPT’s weekly news and public affairs program. Candidate Dan Cox also has a standing invitation to be interviewed for an on-air segment.
According to a recent poll published by Baltimore Sun Media and the University of Baltimore, Schulz and Cox are the two leading contenders for the Republican Party nomination, while a plurality of Republican voters remained undecided.
No word yet on why Cox has thus far refused to appear.
