Cox's Pittance
Dan Cox may be running for Governor. But he will have limited resources to do so
On the deadline to submit the first campaign finance reports for 2022, it turns out the Republican race for Governor isn’t much of one.
Dan Cox raised only $393,103.33 for his campaign during 2021, reporting only $271,638.32 cash on hand.
Cox's total was four times less than the report $1.52 million raised by Kelly Schulz’s campaign.
Even Robin Ficker has more cash on hand than Cox’s campaign.
$48,905.95 of Cox’s haul was obtained in from transfers or loans:
Kim Klacik transferred $5,000 from her Congressional accounts to Cox;
Former Delegate Warren Miller transferred $500.00 from his dormant account. Miller infamously became one of the Democrats go to helpers during his last term in the House of Delegates before his resignation and started advocating for bigger and bigger government.
Cox’s Delegate account transferred $28,216.03 to Cox’s gubernatorial account.
Cox himself has loaned his campaign $15,193.92, including curiously claiming a $123 oil change at Jiffy Lube as a campaign loan.
Most notable: no donation from Donald Trump was listed in Cox’s campaign finance report. There is, however, a $5,000 donation from Trump’s Save America PAC. Trump himself did not financially support Cox’s campaign.
We will have a more detailed analysis of the reports once all reports are
Brian this is really pathetic. Dan posted a healthy sum. You are clearly biased because of the way his politics are becoming the norm nationally. Folks like Hogan are extinct now. Dan is the mainstream, regardless of how this election plays out. Look at the OVER 50 PERCENT of our party that denies 2020. You know this to be true.
