Dan Cox Is Not a Doctor
Politicians who have no medical expertise acting as if they do is a major problem for our public health
My biggest pet peeve in politics is reading Covid misinformation spoken by politicians who have no medical expertise. Dan Cox HAS to STOP posting irresponsible articles around Covid Vaccines. Period.
He recently posted an article “Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for Covid-19 in Pregnant Women”. He posted other blatantly incorrect and childish references.
Let me refute his irresponsible postings:
Cox stated: “. .the NIH published an article saying the COVID. . “ Dan Cox has been told before, the NIH does not publish, they hold a repository for all medical articles. The International Journal of General Medicine actually published the article. The article was merely a “commentary”.
Dan, the article did not recommend the use of HCQ for fighting Covid in pregnant women. The article stated “We propose the use of HCQ PrEP to attenuate or prevent Covid infection in pregnancy.” Big difference! (and BTW, this commentary was published before vaccines were readily available for people outside of first responders.)
.
HCQ has not been definitively determined to be safe for pregnant women. Yes, women have taken it for other diseases, because they had no other choice. It is generally considered to be safe for pregnant women when treating auto-immune disease. It has not been studied in Covid.
HCQ is a Category C for pregnant women. “What does pregnancy category C medications mean? Slightly higher risk. “
“There is evidence that HCQ may be safe during pregnancy, with previous research finding no increased risk of, prematurity, fetal death, retinopathy, low birth weight, stillbirth, or congenital defects[2-4]. However, there is also evidence that HCQ could result in fetal harm with a recent meta-analysis finding an association between HCQ use and spontaneous abortion3 and small for gestational age[5]. Therefore, clinicians may be faced with the difficult decision of deciding whether to treat their pregnant COVID-19 patients with HCQ. “
4. Next Dan posts an article from Gateway Pundit.
What is Gateway Pundit? “Overall, we rate The Gateway Pundit Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, promotion of conspiracies, and numerous instances of publishing false (fake) news.”
Certainly doesn’t speak to medical authenticity, does it?
The article starts out: Doctor warns Stillbirths are rampant a month fully . .
Guess what? My ten minutes of research finds:
“One of the men (in the GW article) is retired family doctor Mel Bruchet, who calls COVID-19 a "hoax" in the video. According to the website of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C., Bruchet has resigned his medical licence.”
“The other medical professional featured in the video is Dr. Daniel Nagase, who claims he was fired from working at a rural Alberta hospital after promoting the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19.
Alberta Health Services has said Nagase was not scheduled for further shifts at the hospital and a review would be conducted into his "extremely disappointing" conduct.””

Lastly, Dan Cox childishly posted a bad photo of Dr. Anthony Fauci that is on par with Donald Trump making fun of the reporter with a disability. Let’s just say this was childish of Mr. Cox.
NO one should be providing any medical advice for pregnant women. Women must discuss that with their OB doc. But I can direct you toward reliable and medically sound sources of information regarding the Covid vaccines for pregnant gals. I do not deal in junk science.
Here are some links to the national organizations and thought leaders on the Covid vaccines for pregnant women. And remember OB’s would much rather not treat a serious disease in a pregnant woman, they would rather immunize against such severe disease.
ACOG – American College of OB Gyn (national association guiding recommendations for all Ob-Gyn’s.

Listen to the 2nd speaker for validation the vaccine in pregnant moms. https://www.idsociety.org/multimedia/podcasts/covid-19-vaccinating-pregnant-and-immunocompromised-individuals-march-6-2021/
And from American College of Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists, Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and AWHONN.

Seriously, Dan Cox has to STOP providing junk science and biased reporting to scare people away from the vaccine. It is unethical and immoral to cite inappropriate “medical” commentary to scare the electorate.
For every pregnant woman wondering what to do with vaccinations: I urge you to read the above citations. .. and then GO and talk with your OB. Only he/she can advise you on safety measures to take during your pregnancies. No politician should EVER be trying to sway you in any way.
I’ll leave you with this. .
A tweet from a woman: “My uncle is a MD in NW FL and said it's been far more distressing & draining then working in conflict zones bc of the lack of a shared reality. And he worries about his family & especially my grandparents being perpetually worried about him, as it is damaging to their wellbeing.”
A doc’s response to the tweet: “Lack of a shared reality...gah, yes! It's heart breaking and how do we fix THAT w all thr disinformation? I keep thinking... don't get in a car accident now. There won't be blood or a bed etc”
Dan Cox, your plans will destroy public health, and it will literally kill our healthcare system, destroy our healthcare workers physically, mentally and emotionally. Your plans will raise the overall death rate during this pandemic. I, for one, would not want that on my conscience. . . . .. gee, there is that word “conscience” again. As a Christian, I believe God wants us to save one another here on earth, from death and disease….. that’s my conscience talking to me. Please folks, stop listening to politicians about the vaccine, go to your doctor for medical advice.
