Did Dan Cox Pull The Wool Over Our Eyes?
Cox Is Touting Poll Numbers. Does anybody believe them?
Dan Cox and Gordana Schifanelli have a tendency to throw something out there and not give either full disclosure or the actual source.
Dan has done it again. He makes the claim that the “Remington Research Group” conducted a poll that showed Dan Cox to be the leader for Republican gubernatorial primary election.
I think it is time Dan Cox provide full transparency and disclosure! Let’s take a look.
Dan first indicates that the RRG is an “A” rated pollster. Not so fast, Dan. “B” rating! Dan lied? Or didn’t know better?
Let’s get to the poll questions. As a lawyer, Dan Cox surely knows about “leading the witness” (The attorney during a trial or deposition asks questions in a form in which he/she puts words in the mouth of the witness or suggests the answer.)
Right? This poll was absurd. Talk about leading the witness.
I’ve experience in marketing research. And I believe I can take my knowledge of marketing research over to polling research. This polling questionnaire lacks integrity. The flaws in this research are many:
5 common survey question mistakes that'll ruin your data
Don't write leading questions. ...
Avoid loaded questions. ...
Stay away from double-barreled questions. ...
Absolutely do not use absolutes in questions. ...
Be clear by speaking your respondent's language.
The other interesting item in all this is that this questionnaire/poll does NOT look at like polls or surveys done by Remington Research Group. Let me provide a few examples that RRG has published on their website.
Arkansas Republican Primary Election:
Another one:
Florida 2018 Primary Election
These two examples are decent polls (in my limited experience). However, the poll questions in Dan Cox’s are not at all structured in a similar manner. Has Dan created his own questions? And conducted the poll himself? We need an answer.
Also, notice that Dan is NOT providing us with a copy of the RRG results report that would be published or at least given to the business entity that ordered the poll. Where is the results report, Dan?
One last thing verified:
Dan Cox did in fact ordered this poll.
Note also that the date in the above chart indicates May 1-3, 2022. In Dan’s SM post he has the dates as: 5/1 to 3/22. What’s going on?
I did contact Remington Research Group. I have yet to hear back from them.
Dan Cox must be fully transparent by providing full disclosure. We demand it. We deserve nothing less.
I personally do not believe much of what comes out of the Dan Cox Campaign.
Do not let the wool be pulled over your eyes!
