Herold wins 2nd Greater Baltimore Mini-Golf Tour Event of 2020
Ties Kaminski for most wins on the Tour This Season
Matthew Herold won his second Greater Baltimore Mini-Golf Tour event of the season with a 2-stroke win at the Bubba’s 33 Open at Night Hawk Golf Center in Gambrills, today.
Herold’s 77 was two strokes better than John Barkey, who finished with 79. Gary Bruzdzinski, Rob Cataldi, Michael Kreiner and John Wolfe finished tied for third with an 81.
Cataldi, the tour founder and commissioner, extended his tour record of 29 tournament starts without a victory.
Herold joins Aaron Kaminski with two tour victories this season. Kaminski of New Jersey-based O-Street Mini Golf, was a contestant on ABC’s “Holey Moley” earlier this year. Kaminski was unable to participate in this week’s tournament.
Neither Herold nor Kaminski are likely to be in the running for the Tour Championship, as tour rules reward players who attend more tournaments.
Mike Kriener currently leads the 2020 Tour by a commanding 12 points over John Barkey. Kriener, the 2018 Tour Champion, is looking to tie Dave Truman’s record of two tour championships. Truman currently sits in 3rd place, 16 points back.
