Homepage Shows Banner Bias
With all of the Democrats and Baltimore Sun veterans involved with the Baltimore Bannner, is it any wonder that they are who we thought they were?
One look at The Baltimore Banner today shows that all my predictions have come true.
Once again, these are some of the things I have previously written about the effort.
’ve written about it more than a few times
And yet, The Baltimore Banner could still wind up making the same journalistic mistakes that the Sun does. It’s still unsure who all is involved in the decision-making beyond Bainum, and we have already seen the political lengths some those who were involved in the Save Our Sun campaign were willing to go. Bainum promised an unbiased newsroom. Let’s hope he sticks to that promise and also gives conservatives an actual spot on the opinion page
Every time that we hear something about The Baltimore Banner, we end up with more questions than answers and more concerns about the credibility and potential biases within the paper. Bainum and company should address these concerns now so that the people can depend upon The Baltimore Banner to serve can trust that their operation is going to provide real news and not merely propaganda.
The real question of all of this is whether or not we can trust the content on The Baltimore Banner. If The Banner continues to stay in bed with a group like KO that masquerades their paid lobbying activities behind the thinnest veneer of “journalism”, is The Banner’s operation going to be run in a similar “pay-to-play” way?
Over and over, Center Maryland has been what we have always known; that they are far from “News Straight Down the Middle”. Let’s hope The Banner doesn’t follow their tainted legacy.
And yet, one look at the home page of The Banner his afternoon shows exactly what I told you was going to happen.
The front page consists of story after story shown from a left-wing bias. Nearly every piece linked on the front page is either about aborton or Pride Month, all from a radically left-wing perspective. The only story showing a pro-life perspective, for example, was one about Mass at the Baltimore Basilica this morning.
This of course won’t surprise you considering six weeks ago the Banner had reporters writing pro-abortion opinion pieces in their digital pages.
As expected, The Baltimore Banner has become just another left-wing rag. Though it will be interesting to see at what point their notable bias impacts their non-profit status.
