Mid Atlantic Wiffle returned to a familiar place on Saturday. They also found a familiar result.
The Juggernauts won the Wiffle Bash in Staten Island for a second straight year, defeating Voodoo in a 1-0 pitcher’s duel.
With their win, the Juggz sweep all three automatic qualifier tournaments for the 2022 MAW playoffs. They previously won the Opening Day tournament in April and the Steel City Showdown earlier this month.
The Juggernauts had to defeat Screw U in the quarterfinals, followed by a 3-2 win over the York Yaks following a walk-off home run from Tim McElrath.
While the Juggernauts are the only teams to officially earn an MAW playoff spot so far, Voodoo is well positioned to join the Juggz in earning a first-round bye in the six team playoff. With one tournament remaining, the Stompers and ERL remain well positioned to claim bids to the playoffs. The remaining playoff spots will be decided by the MAW Wild-Card tournament on September 3rd.
The last regular season tournament will be held August 13th at Showell Park in Berlin, MD.
