I wrote the following on The Quinton Retort about my trip to Arlington National Cemetery Sunday. It includes the acts of heroism about many good men who were killed in action, but I also trained my metaphorical guns on political types who just pay lip service on Memorial Day itself but do nothing to honor the men who died in their other actions on the day, or other days. I also remind everyone that it’s okay to enjoy your cookout or your beach trip, but you should also take a moment to remember the brave men and women who made that possible for you.
