In a bizarre choice today, the official Twitter account of Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman proudly displayed the hammer and sickle in its banner photo today.
The hammer and sickle, of course, is the symbol of communism, strangely embraced by the left despite its extensive moral and economic failings.
Fetterman has long been a darling of the media and the far left for leaving his comfortable surroundings and moving to heavily blue-collar Braddock, PA, and eventually becoming Mayor. So his embrace of communism and communist imagery is not all that surprising, especially since like most people who support communism he hadn't had a job in a decade before being elected Lt. Governor and has been supported by wealthy parents.
As expected, Fetterman played the whole thing off as a joke and as a troll of the right.
As you can see above, Fetterman also retweeted a tweet from a fan who thinks that communist imagery makes Fetterman seem “fucking awesome.”
I for one don’t think this is a laughing matter.
The second-highest-ranking official in Pennsylvania in any way, shape, or form endorsing communism is a problem.
Any elected official in any way, shape, or form endorsing communism is a problem.
Is John Fetterman aware that approximately 100 million people were killed due to communism? I highly doubt that he does.
The hammer and sickle is right there with the swastika when it comes to symbols of hate, repression, and murder. Why the hell does John Fetterman think that it’s ok to use the hammer and sickle to make some sort of political joke?
In a just society, John Fetterman would be driven from office for his brazen use of a symbol of hate. But because he didn’t use a swastika or even a Confederate flag, this will be generally ignored by the media and by national Democrats.
