Schifanelli Linked Fake News Site Slanders The Duckpin

All That's Old is New Again

Gordana Schifanelli associated fake news site Shore Times launched a new line of attack against Kelly Schulz and her campaign. Except this time, she included The Duckpin (and presumably me) in the missive.

In the poorly worded, grammatically nightmarish, and practically incoherent “news story” they write:

As of to-date, Kelly Schulz not only failed to provide the source of her data that “Maryland is No. 1 state in the Union on economics”, but instead she hired DuckPin and “Literally Dan Cox” website – an online version of “spread the trash about your opponent” and another KGB style political disinformation site.

Yup.

It gets…..better?

Most recently- Kelly Schulz’s campaign in their DuckPin edition slammed the Freedom Truckers calling them “the convoy to nothing” and slandering thousands of Marylanders for supporting the protest agaist vaccine mandates.

I’m not sure what an “agaist vaccine mandate” is or why people are protesting it.

Hilariously, the piece concludes with:

This article is not paid or endorsed by Dan Cox for Governor Campaign.

This is despite the fact that the site itself has already been linked to Schifanelli!

A Couple of things are worth pointing out here:

• It’s The Duckpin. Not Duckpin. Certainly not DuckPin. It’s The Duckpin.

• The Cox campaign is now resorting to the same scorched earth attacks against me that the Charles Lollar campaign deployed back in 2014.

For those of you who might be new here, way back in 2014 the Charles Lollar campaign (remember him?) spent the months prior to the gubernatorial primary election accusing myself and others at Red Maryland of being paid by the Hogan Campaign and that’s why we were endorsing him and writing about the race in the way we did.

That of course was bunk. Charles Lollar lost the race by 30 points.

Here we are, eight years later and Cox-Schifanelli, the Charles Lollar 2.0 campaign, is using the same failed playbook.

As I said in our endorsement, Kelly Schulz is my friend and I’ve known her for a LONG time. I would be writing about the campaign and supporting her regardless of whether or not Dan Cox decided to end his political career by running against her.

But more importantly, and this is key: I have never taken a penny to write about ANY race. That’s not what we do here. We’re not even selling advertising of any sort right now. If you want to help us you can buy a shirt or buy something on Amazon and we make some scratch. But otherwise? I’m doing this for fun.

All this episode really does is highlight the conspiratorial mindset of Dan Cox and Gordana Schifanelli. Nobody can truly just be “against them.” Nothing is really ever “their fault.” It’s obviously just a “shady cabal” of “globalists” or something.

At no point do Cox or Schifanelli seem willing to accept the fact that they have embraced a losing ideology as they run a losing campaign for offices neither are remotely qualified to hold.

I’m sure this crackpot theory will now spread to the Facebooks, where Cox’s Suckers eat his nonsense up. But as I said, a hit dog will holler.

If this is the fight they want to pick, it is not going to end well for them.
