The Monday Thought
No, it’s about people who post images like this on Facebook.
You see, these keyboard warriors think that they are a lion and that people who don’t agree with their agenda and what they say about the state of the world are lions.
Of course, it doesn’t exactly work out that way, does it?
When you wind up engaging in discourse with a lot of these folks, the conversation goes about this.
“Lion” makes pro-Trump point;
Respondent replies with fact;
“Lion denies fact and calls respondent a sheep.
Rinse, repeat.
Just look at what happens when somebody complains about the FBI warrant served on Donald Trump being what happens in a “banana republican.” Little do they realize that it is a banana republic under Donald Trump in which they yearn to live.
If your “belief” in our country is so fragile and pathetic that you will lose “hope for our nation” unless Donald Trump is given free reign to cleanse the land of evildoers, then you don’t actually believe in this nation. If your love of country is contingent on your preferred faction being in power, you’ve confused partisanship for patriotism. Taken seriously, all of this banana republic talk is un-American.
I don’t mean it’s a wrong or flawed argument or simply an argument I don’t like—though it is all those things. I mean it is literally an un-American argument because it fundamentally betrays the whole idea of this country.
What they fail to realize is the fact that they are merely following along an ecosystem that exists to provide them with specific content designed to reinforce their worldview. If all you read is Breibart, Zerohedge, and the Epoch Times, and all you watch on TV is One America News and Real America’s Voice, you are getting merely a distorted view of reality.
This of course was created again by Donald Trump and the cult of personality that he built around himself. Because Trump demanded fealty and loyalty to himself, his supporters gave it to him. And just look at what following Trump has led his supporters to defend:
Strongman government (January 2017-present)
Racial violence (Charlottesville, 2017)
Science denail (COVID, 2020-present)
Federalizing police (June 2022-present)
Overturning an election (2020-present)
Treason and sedition (January 6, 2021-present)
A coup d’etat (January 6, 2021)
Defending Russian aggression against Ukraine(February 22, 2022-present)
Violating the Espionage Act (last week-present)
Trump gets these folks to violate one core belief of American exceptionalism and then the dominoes keep falling. He has these folks begging for a Trump-led dictatorship.
It’s not just the Republican base who has been led this way. All of a sudden, after Donald Trump was under investigation for violating the Espionage Act, Rand Paul decided it was a good time to suggest its repeal.

All of this leading Trump has done toward a moral abyss has consequences. Just look at the idiot who tried to shoot up the FBI in Cincinnati last week.
On Truth Social, a site started by Trump, an account with Shiffer’s name published a post after the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago telling others to “get whatever you need to be ready for combat.” On Thursday at 9:30 a.m., he wrote another post that seemed to indicate he was writing after attempting to enter the FBI building.
“Well, I thought I had a way through bullet proof glass, and I didn’t,” he wrote. “If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it’ll mean either I was taken off the internet, the F.B.I. got me, or they sent the regular cops.”
These people, these “lions” are the ones who keep talking and yearning for a Civil War. And this is what they have become. Watch the videos in this thread and feel unnerved.

All these people have followed a demagogue into a path of despair not realizing that they are being led, being herded by somebody who wants them to do little more than his bidding, repeating his lies, and just doing what they are told.
Ironically, PraegerU described it all the best.
They say that they are lions. But they are too far lost to realize they are the sheep.
