The Monday Thought
Our first ever Duckpin Poll was a mixed bag of success.
In eight days, we received 261 total responses. This, however, was before we had to eliminate the bad ones. We specifically mentioned that we were going to root out bad data. We had to go through and eliminate all of the individuals who inputted more than one response in this survey. Then we had to go back and eliminate all of the ones that had bad email addresses. That took us from 261 to 216.
More than 30 of the bad or duplicate responses all were votes for Robin Ficker. The rest were for John King. Make of that what you will.
So, here are the results or our extremely non-scientific poll for the Republicans.
It’s no surprise that Schulz has a huge lead. But even I was surprised that Dan Cox finished third in this poll behind Robin Ficker.
As far as the Democrats go.
The Democratic sample was extremely small. Fewer than 100 people. I would not put a whole lot of stock into an unscientific poll with that small a sample size.
What’s more interesting, however, are these results. Now remember: most of the respondents (more than 70%) were self-identified Republicans:
So not a real surprise, Kelly Schulz has the lead here. Now, take a look when you match up Dan Cox against a generic Democrat.
In that theoretical race, Dan Cox would finish third behind Libertarian candidate David Lashar.
Make of this what you will was we head toward the June primary. Thanks to everybody who participated, and we might do this again in a few months.
