I was a Maryland Democrat for years even though I always voted for the Republicans. Finally, about 6 years ago, I switched to ... Independent. The Maryland Republican Party does nothing to support their candidates. Right now, Black Republicans have quite a few people running, namely Kim Kacick and Shannon Wright. How much support, monetary or otherwise are they getting from their party to help get them over the top? Here is a tremendous opportunity to change the stereotype that the GOP has and they are ignoring it, The attitude is, "Oh well,we can't win in that state anyway," excuse is why I did not join them.
