The Runback: Ungrateful Bastards

Memorial Day Weekend 2023: Remembering the fallen, while some don't
The Monday Tuesday Thought
Team Trump over the weekend decided to roll this line of attack out.
Yes, Trumpworld decided to use Memorial Day weekend as an opportunity to score points on political opponents who served in the military. What they did, of course, was cheapen the memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to their country.
The line of reasoning, employed by a twenty-something brat who has never severed nor has had a real job, is amusing seeing that it was done in defense of an ex-President who never served by getting five draft deferments and having a podiatrist who leased space from his father to diagnose him with bone spurs after a scandalous career at military school.
Like many politicians, Donald Trump and those in his orbit pay lip service to the plight of veterans and those lost fighting for our country. But it is clear, through their actions, that Donald Trump and his minions have no respect for the military or those who put on the uniform to defend something greater than themselves:
When President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that “the helicopter couldn’t fly” and that the Secret Service wouldn’t drive him there. Neither claim was true.
Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
A bunch of suited and booted dorks who have never put on a uniform or served anything other than themselves should keep their mouths shut about the sacrifices made by those that did. Because Trump and the whole lot and little more than ungrateful bastards living under the blanket of protection they provided. And they are contemptible.
