The Self-Righteousness of Dan Cox
Dan Cox loves to exercise his self-righteous muscle. This muscle must have a lot of memory as Dan just keeps this indignation coming our way.
“Self-righteous is defined as having or characterized by a certainty, especially an unfounded one, that one is totally correct or morally superior.”
“Self-righteousness is when you take pride in your apparent ability to live a holy life. You think God is pleased with you because you seem to be able to keep his laws; you also consider yourself superior to others because of your clean living.
Then there is righteous indignation. This is when you become angry because someone has insulted you, in particular as it relates to your sense of justice. Your response will convey a feeling of superiority to the offender, as if you yourself could never even imagine stooping to their level or behaving in the such a way.
Neither are very flattering behaviors, but in either situation you would be the last person to realize it.”
Dan Cox loves to exercise his self-righteous muscle. This muscle must have a lot of memory as Dan just keeps this indignation coming our way.
His last self-righteous campaign statement: “I denounce this deceitful tactic to control Marylanders in fear.. . Breathing free and informed consent are both a birthright of America.” His comment was in response to a Baltimore Sun article that stated Covid cases are rising rapidly in Baltimore. The Baltimore’s health commissioner is advising people to resume masking up indoors.
Let’s set the record straight on what is happening right now with Covid in Maryland and in the US.
997,000 deaths in US, 6.26 M worldwide (That should grab anyone’s attention.)
“Here we go, yet again, with almost 159K new confirmed cases in a single day. This is not counting all the people who only tested at home without reporting it and not counting anyone unaware they’re currently infected and potentially contagious to you. #GetBoosted now. #WearAMask. “
Let’s talk death. Sars-CoV-2 is an opportunist, it takes anyone, any age, given the chance.
“COVID19 was the 1st or 2nd leading cause of death for #Millenial
& #GenX Americans in 2021. It wasn’t mild for any of them.
#GetBoosted”
“In 2021, for people as young as 15-24, Covid emerged as the fourth leading cause of death, below suicide and above malignant cancers, according to preliminary data for the year published by the CDC. For
people aged 25-44, Covid was the second leading cause of death. For
those aged 45-54, Covid was the No. 1 cause of death last year.”

The variants are far more transmissible than the wild type and it is here NOW!
“BA.2.12.1, shows continued transmission, increasing cases and hospitalizations in the earliest hit States. Should be big warning to everyone as map fills in with High Transmission across U.S. Why aren't we taking any action to protect children and warning people?”
“Measles is the most contagious airborne disease on earth. Covid 19 BA2.12.1, which now makes up almost half of daily US cases, just tied it for 1st place. If you want to avoid infection (p.s. you do), up your mask game.” Tatiana Prowell, MD.
Reinfection rates show that natural immunity is not conferred by Covid as it is with measles, etc. Covid is more like the common cold in terms of the possibility of reinfection. There is NO herd immunity at this point and herd immunity may not occur until medical science is able to make a vaccine that works as well as the measles vaccine, etc.
Long Covid is a serious consequence of this virus. We don’t understand all the elements of post Covid syndrome. This is an entire new area of medical science, which currently has few answers as to why and how to treat. Meanwhile millions are now sufferers of this – it is a disability in many cases. Many careers ruined. Lives ruined.

So, what is Dan doing for us with Covid? NOTHING.
Dan will not protect our children under the age of 6, who are not yet eligible to get the Covid vaccine.
Dan will not protect the immunocompromised, the cancer patients, the immunosuppressed, the transplant patient, the elderly.
Dan will let Covid rip across the state causing more death and long term health issues.
Dan will NOT protect our healthcare system or our healthcare workers from the stress of another Covid surge.
Dan has no plan for helping the Long Covid patients deal with their disease.
Dan has no plan for public health to study or financially help these affected Covid patients.
Dan will not protect school teachers.
Dan will not talk with our medical community, even though we have the best of the best at JHU and U. of Maryland. He simply chooses to not want to be educated on pandemics and Covid.
Dan will NOT prepare us for the next pandemic, certain to come.
Dan will continue to abandon Maryland with good public health.
This tweet says it all: Universal mask policies (i.e. mask mandates) make it possible for everyone to participate in work, school, and society – immunocompromised, those too young to mask, those who are ineligible for vaccination, etc. I will die on this hill.” Vanessa Lamers, MESc, MPH
“If you don’t understand this (the quote above), you don’t understand public health. And you don’t understand what it means to work in #pediatrics and care for #children.” –Jake Kane, MD, MS, FCCM, FAAP
What am I going to do? I’m sticking with Kelly Schulz and Jeff Woolford, MD for Governor and Lt. Governor of Maryland. I want my Governor and Lt. Governor to have the skill, the experience and the expertise that the Schulz Campaign brings to Maryland. Jeff Woolford, MD knows public health, and he knows how to keep us safe.
Kelly Schulz could not have picked a better running mate. Dr. Woolford will continue to work for the lives and good health of all Marylanders as we continue to travel through the rest of this pandemic. My vote goes to the medical doctor in this race.
