In the first two tournaments of the 2022 season, Voodoo made it all the way to the finals only to fall short in the championship game.
They would not be denied today.
Voodoo defeat the Stompers 1-0 in the finals of Wiffle War V at Shi Wiffle Ball Park in York, PA today.


Voodoo lost their first game of the day against the Ridley Park Magic, and then rolled to wins against the Longballs, Goon Squad, and Dragons in the prelims. A win against the defending MAW and National Champions the Juggernauts sent Voodoo into the final.
In the final, Devin Torres hit a first-inning home run that was the only scoring of the day. Jordan Robles, fresh off another dominating performance for the Midwest Mallards in Major League Wiffle, tossed the complete game shutout.
With their win, Voodoo takes possession of the 2022 version of the coveted MAW championship belt.
The next tournament will be the Steel City Showdown on July 2nd at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA, home of USL’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The tournament is one of three automatic berths to the 2022 MAW Playoffs.
