ll great except for the lack of consideration of the vaccine deaths of SO MANY young people, uneven data tracking for adverse events and the vaccine passports which will be used to force the “boosters forever” plan, and the fact that this administration, the CDC, NIAID, NHS, WHO and others have flat lied to us and targeted people for their ideology (or the lack of adhering to leftist ideology.)

We need an Administration that is not in EVERY WAY an enemy of the people (based on observable actions.)

Hi All, I'd like to help everyone understand what is going on with vaccines. I will not talk in terms of Republican or Democratic Parties. . that does not have relevance to scientific medical and health discussions.

The return of mask mandates was necessary. The majority of the medical community were critical of the quick step that the administration and the CDC took regarding the vaccinated leaving their masks behind. Medical science indicates that we need to keep the masks on indoors, when shopping or anytime we are in crowds.

There are a variety of reasons why masking is still necessary for the vaccinated. We have not reached herd immunity, by any means. The Delta variant dealt us a new blow in the management of Covid. We have too many unvaccinated that are the primary source of spread. Yes, the vaccinated can also get Covid, but they are not the primary source of spread. Because vaccinated can get Covid, they become infectious a day or two before the onset of their more milder symptoms. Therefore, we have to prevent this spread through masking. Fortunately, the vaccinated are infectious for a shorter period of time than the unvaccinated. Secondly the CDC told us we could take off our masks too soon, if we were vaccinated. The unvaccinated took advantage of this, and they decided it was their turn to go maskless. Obviously that encouraged the virus to have its day yet again with us. Thirdly, the Delta variant is highly transmissble and the masking is one more protection against the spread of the disease.

I disagree with Dr. Miller-Meeks comment. ..simply because we have too many unvaccinated people out there, we don't have the entire picture of how the vaccines provide protection as time goes on. We have seen where immunity waned after 2 doses of the mRNA vaccines. . thus the recommendation for the third dose. And J&J waned significantly requiring the 2nd shot of the mRNA.

Ron DeSantis is not a medical person. And he does not have good advisors around him. We still don't know a variety of things about Covid infection in the vaccinated. If they do get Covid and have a milder disease (as we would expect), we do not know if they can still get long hauler Covid, nor do we know if the lungs of covid vaccinated patient are damaged in any way. Ron DeSantis was out of line to say what he did.

Children must wear masks. I have five grandchildren I am concerned about. My 16 year granddaughter chose to get her vaccine when it was available. I was very proud of her decision. However that leaves 4 of my grandkids who, up until recently, had NO protection. That is why we vaccinated adults needed to mask up, and continue to mask up. As a vaccinated person, I will do nothing that could cause harm or death to a child should I have a break through infection.

Yes, I agree with your comments about the vaccine being safe and effective. I wish the unvaccinated would speak with their medical doctor, or listen to medical people and researchers who can explain this, rather than relying on the misinformation coming out of social media. But the mandates have to be put into place, sadly. We will spin our wheels in this pandemic until vaccinations rise, during which time we continue to mask up.

Frankly medical people are still avoiding restaurants, in person meetings (when vaccination status and testing are not available), or crowded venues. We are not yet on offense with this virus.

As a state and as a country, we have not reached sufficient complete vaccinations to protect ourselves. The vaccination for the mRNA vaccines will be a total of 3 shots for the schedule. It remains to be seen what the schedule will ultimately be for the J&J vaccine. Suffice it to say, one J&J shot was not sufficient to provide protection.

Simply, the vaccines are the only thing that will get us out of this pandemic. They do prevent hospitalizations and death in 95%. However because we have way too many people who are not vaccinated, we are left with this virus still on offense. We must maintain all the layers of protection until the percentage of vaccinated folks rises, and rises significantly.

I try not to make this political, citing neither party in my discussion. I am furious with the Cox campaign for spreading increasingly misinformation and conspiracy theories about the vaccine, Covid and therapeutics. I call on all to stop politicizing this. I approach this only from the medical statement. I do not listen to media, as they have proven to completely misrepresent the actual medical news. I come from 35 years in Pharma/Biotech, having had experience with vaccines, monoclonal antibodies (mAB's), targeted therapy and immunotherapy. I stick with the physicians and medical experts who are well versed in their field of expertise. And I will continue to speak out to any politician who is misrepresenting the medical science and potentially harming people.

This virus is not done with us yet. We are already seeing increasing rates in a variety of areas in the country. I assure you that Maryland will see a rise in cases this winter too. Please get vaccinated, wear your masks (I hate them too, but we won't have to wear them forever), and protect the people in our society by acting responsibly with our public health measures. And yes, I am a Republican that wonders what has happened to this party.

You are ignoring reality. None of the vaccines is fully effective. Despite steadily rising vaccination rates, case rates are also rising - in Maryland as well as elsewhere in the USA and the world. To anyone not blinded by their extreme ideology, this makes it obvious that we do need other public health measures to combat the pandemic. Take off your ideological blinders for the benefit of us all.
