There are many reasons that socialism fails. But it’s doctrinaire adherence to talking points instead of relating to people is surely one of them.
There are many reasons why socialism fails, particularly in the United States. Socialism of course is a utopian fantasy world that pretends that we can redistribute the current American economy and its economic gains to large numbers of people without any detrimental impacts to the American economy.

With all of that being said, if you ever wanted to see a visual representation of why socialism in America will fail, there are plenty of visuals that will suffice. Like this one, for example.
But a more realistic view of why socialism fails is this:
This is a screen capture of the policy section of Jerome Segal’s gubernatorial website. If it looks little more than bullet points of pie-in-the-sky policy positions without any facts or reasoning, you’re right. If it is just a word-for-word recitation of Segal’s policy positions without any visual representation of what that looks like, you’re right.
Segal and company really think that people who might be inclined to vote for Segal are going to read, word for word, his policy positions and be convinced by them.
It’s madness.
Lest you think I’m cherry picking one part of Segal’s website, I assure you I’m not. This is what the front page of his website
It’s all nothing more than black text on white background, an appropriate metaphor for the blandness, the sameness, the nothingness that is socialism.
