Dreamworld? More Like Nightmare Fuel
The original Coca-Cola Creations flavor was bad. This is somehow far, far worse
Six months ago I wrote about Coca-Cola’s latest special beverage, Coca-Cola Starlight. This week we managed to get our hands on that beverage’s successor, Coca-Cola Dreamworld.
Things have not improved.
So, this is how Coke’s website describes the drink:
Coca-Cola Dreamworld makes the most fascinating parts of our imagination real. This limited edition sparkling beverage from Coca-Cola Creations explores the realms of the surreal, the imaginary, and the otherworldly. Experience the familiar Coca-Cola taste now with a surprising and unexpected flavor from a dream world.
Once you get past the corporate-speak you land on the fact that the drink is supposed to taste like dreams. But there seems to be a breakdown as to what people think that the stuff tastes like.
Some people say Marshmello Coke, a Skittles-type taste. Others say “Yellow Tic-Tacs”. Most people seem to not agree on what it tastes like.
Let me tell you what it really tastes like….
It’s crap. It’s hot garbage. It’s terrible. It’s awful. I took two sips and vowed to never drink it again. It’s funny because it tasted like a more intense version of Starlight. Here’s what I wrote about that.
Well the first taste I got was not that it was a Coke, but that it was a Pepsi. It had that sickening sweet mouthfeel of a full-sugar Pepsi. But beyond that, it doesn’t taste like raspberries. It tastes more like cotton candy like something Faygo would produce.
Yet, it’s somehow sweeter and has more of a Cotton-Candy taste than even the original. I never before had the sensation of my teeth rotting from sweetness while drinking a sugar-free beverage, but now I have.
It’s not the worst product ever produced by the Coca-Cola company (Beverly is still the worst I’ve had), but it is up there. I have no idea which executive green-lit this for production, but I question their decision-making.
Thinking of trying Dreamworld? Save yourself the trouble; buy something else.
