Predicting College Football's Final 4
We’ve arrived at our first real game week everyone - congratulations - we made it to the 2021 College Football Season! A friend of mine once said he was so excited about a football game he was “turning over tables” - well I’m there!
Later this week I’ll lay out the most interesting games of the weekend but before we get there, let’s talk predictions for the College Football Playoff. (If you missed my conference-by-conference breakdown - you can click here for Part 3 and links to Parts 1-2).
Everyone who reads this knows I’m an Alabama homer but as I said in my SEC preview, I expect the Tide to take at least a small step back. I’m predicting them to lose one regular season game and then…I think this is the year a long-suffering challenger to the throne takes the next step…here’s what I’m taking:
The Final 4
Georgia
Oklahoma
Clemson
Ohio State
Georgia beats Ohio State, Oklahoma beats Clemson and Georgia wins the national championship.
Last two out - could be a two loss Alabama, one or two loss Texas A&M, one-two loss Oregon and a one loss or even undefeated Cincinnati.
This is the year Georgia and Kirby Smart shake off the Alabama/Saban stranglehold and win their first national championship since…1980. This is in no way an attempt to jinx the Bulldogs or poor-mouth my team…
Just remember - what matters the most is that you enjoy the season! Check back later this week for the most interesting matchups of Week 1 - and as always, feel free to comment or tell my how wrong I am @readycfb on Twitter.
